The process of a hypnotherapy session mainly consists of 5 stages.

1. Introduction
This stage is basically a getting to know each other phase. The hypnotherapist will introduce themselves to you and you introducing yourself to the hypnotherapist.
This stage facilitates the understanding your presenting issues and your expectations and goals of coming for hypnotherapy. The hypnotherapist will often gather some basic information, e.g any past experience with hypnosis or hypnotherapy, family background, any medical conditions, how long have you been dealing with the presenting issue, etc. You may also seek to clarify any doubts or concerns regarding hypnosis and hypnotherapy

2. Induction
Induction involves encouraging and preparing you to enter into the state of hypnosis. The use of relaxation techniques are often implemented at this stage. The goal of this stage is to allow you to relax yourself, getting rid of any tension felt.

3. Deepening
Deepening involves getting you into a deeper state of hypnosis. Deepening the state of hypnosis prepares the unconscious mind to be more receptive to new suggestions. The hypnotherapist would usually achieve this by continuing or reinforcing the process of induction. The aim of this stage is to ensure that you are in the state of hypnosis.

4. Intervention
Intervention is the stage where suggestions are delivered to your unconscious. This is what helps you to achieve your desired outcome from hypnotherapy. Suggestions can be discussed and agreed upon with the hypnotherapist.

5. Awakening
Awakening is the stage when you awaken from the state of hypnosis. This stage of awakening is done gradually and slowly, so as to ensure that you safely return to your state of consciousness.

Each stage described above plays an important role in facilitating the achievement of your desired goal from hypnotherapy.

I hope that I have given you a better understanding and clarify your doubts regarding the process of the hypnotherapy session.
