Certifications are evidences to assure that practicing hypnotherapists adhere to professional and ethical standards, which are important as it protects both you and your client. Examples of governing bodies that provide hypnotherapy certifications include Association of Hypnosis Professionals Singapore (AHPS) National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH) International Association of Counsellors & Therapists (IACT) These bodies self-monitor and evaluate the hypnotherapy industry. Additionally, they define and set baselines for what it takes for someone to practice hypnotherapy. To earn a certification, you must meet these basic guidelines (which is about 250 hours or more of coursework and in-person training).
